Marine
Hydraulic cylinders mounted on ocean going ships and used in shipyards endure very difficult conditions including extremes in temperature, weather such as exposure to salt water, harsh rain, ice, dirt and other forms of contamination.

That is a very abusive environment. The cylinders used must therefore be carefully designed and manufactured to succeed in marine use. Hyco builds marine grade hydraulic cylinders that are able to endure 200 hour or much higher salt spray tests. We can build cylinders with stainless steel piston rods or, if needed, cylinders with all stainless steel construction. Our marine grade hydraulic cylinders are epoxy painted to resist corrosion.
On top of that, many marine cylinders are very large bore and long stroke, making frequent repair and replacement simply out of the question. Others are mounted in places difficult to reach making reliability a primary concern.
Hyco has lots of experience in building marine and shipyard hydraulic actuators that last under those trying conditions. Whether it is onboard a ship or on a harbour crane unloading containers, or on a fresh water ferry, Hyco builds high quality marine grade hydraulic actuators that will give years of trouble free service.
We have built both standard rod cylinders and telescopic designs for marine use including onboard luffing cranes, container loaders, shipyard luffing cranes, steering actuators, gate & tension cylinders and more.
